Summer Home Tour – Styled for the Season

Welcome! I am so thrilled to be sharing my summer home tour today!

You may remember my last seasonal tour, Spring Home Tour – Styled for the Season. I absolutely love finding new ways to refresh my decor each season and so I am calling this tour Summer Home Tour – Styled for the Season as the second of a 4-part series!

As I mentioned in my recent post, How to Decorate for Summer, the switch from spring to summer is relatively simple. Long gone are the pinecones, fluffy throw blankets, and winter plaids. Most of us have already lightened and brightened. Just a few additional changes like fewer pastels and tulips are the key to a beautiful summery aesthetic.

We are still in the middle of some room makeovers. If you are a Decor Gold Designs regular, you will likely notice a few sneak peeks of some of the updates. I’m continuing to work toward completing each room, so check back often for upcoming room reveals!

Summer Entry Hall

I want the first impression of my home to include a hint of the current season. I also love for my seasonal decor to flow from room to room.

For summer, I added a new white tray on my entry bench with the cutest round gold handles. It coordinates with my white console table with gold legs. You’ll see lots of bright white in my home today. It is a great way to brighten your home!

Summer Living Room

I wanted my summer living room to look comfy and bright. While I still love gold accents, I am using less gold than in recent months. Again, more white for a fresh, layered, almost coastal look.

Blue is my favorite accent color for summer. This gorgeous planter is one of my favorite accessories. I bought it for my living room reveal and have used it more times than I can count. It makes a beautiful vase, especially when filled with hydrangeas!

I bought a second vegan leather tray for the bench that I am using as an ottoman. A magnolia clipped from my yard and white decorative items create a fresh summer look. Plus, magnolia blossoms smell amazing!

An easy summer decorating tip: Try bringing flowers from your yard inside. I keep pruning shears handy to use for clipping summer branches and flowers.

Summer Breakfast Nook & Kitchen

Our kitchen is probably my favorite room to decorate for the seasons. It is currently in the middle of an update, but I have a corner of my island cleared for the brightest peonies I’ve ever seen.

The kitchen is a simple room to style….. just a tray with a vase or two filled with seasonal flowers is often enough.

Try using a serving tray on your counter. It will act as a decorative tray and will help define your summer vignette.

Summer Bedrooms

Blush pillows with cute tassels were fun additions to both of our guest rooms. Color and details such as tassels or fringe add whimsy and lightness to your decor. I love for my guest rooms to have extra personality, especially for summer.
