It is difficult not to say our new utility room is my favorite room in our new home.
Seems crazy, right? But, I’m leaning toward calling it my favorite for a few reasons. For one, the colors are simply perfect. I could not love the light blue, white, and gold accent combo more. Also, the decorative touches (lighting, window treatments, etc.) came together so well. And lastly, because our utility room is a small space, it definitely feels more finished than many of the larger rooms. So, favorite? It is definitely a strong contender!
Now I finally get to share all of the details. Without further ado, here is our bright and charming utility room reveal!

Lighting
The wall sconces (left and right) were originally intended for our dining room. As soon as I brought them into this space though, I knew they were perfect for our new utility room. This room is at the end of a long hallway and the sconces draw your eyes into the space.

Once I decided to use the sconces here, I found a pretty gold leaf chandelier to tie the room together. It’s modern floral design adds a fun element of surprise to a more traditional room.

Faucet
I selected a timeless gold faucet and sprayer for our sink. The sprayer has been far more useful than I imagined and I highly recommend installing one if you can.

Cabinets & Hardware
We were lucky to be able to have our cabinets custom built, so there is a spot for everything from laundry supplies to extra linens. I’ll share more about how this area is organized later, but for now I want to show you the beautiful design, paint color, and hardware.
The color is Benjamin Moore Gentle Gray. It definitely looks more blue than gray in person.

On the left side of the washing machine, are the pull-out laundry bins. Here, I added these lovely lucite pulls to set them apart. Everywhere else, we used 1-1/4″ round knobs.

The hardware is unlacquered brass. It has aged a bit which added so much character. I love it!

I would be remiss if I didn’t share the door hardware. It is the hardware we used on all of our interior doors and it works brilliantly here.

Washer & Dryer
I knew I needed a front loading washing machine and dryer for this space. These, from LG, are the ones that had all of the features I wanted. I love the aesthetic they provide as well.

Countertops
You may remember that we used quartz for our kitchen countertops. In addition, we went with quartz throughout our entire home including our utility room. The selection in this space is from Vadara in the Calacatta Dorada color. I’m thrilled with the feathery lines and the stunning sheen. This quartz color makes the room look so clean and fresh!

Window Treatments
These. Are. Gorgeous.
They completely transformed the room.
My friends from TCG Interiors custom made them. They also made my dining room window treatments and my living room window treatments. As always, they are simply perfect.
A patterned fabric in blue with a touch of yellow really created a wow-factor. They are charming and fun and so fitting for the space.

Art & Accessories
I have a decent amount of counter space, so I placed some of my favorite soft blue and white accessories in here. These are not new, in fact, I’ve had most of them for 7+ years! If you invest in timeless pieces, you will be able to use them for a very long time.

Nothing beats fresh flowers in a beautiful planter for a finished look!

These lidded jars have been used all over my home (both old and new homes) and continue to be favorites of mine. I paired them with a white ginger jar.

This mirror was a vintage find from a local store. It was hidden behind some items and I almost missed it. Luckily, it caught my eye because it fills this spot well.

The sketch botanicals are also from my previous home. I love them still to this day.
