A powder bath can be one of the most special spaces in your home. It is a great place for a big impact. A place to add drama. Lighting, art, hardware can all be extra special.
You can choose to splurge a bit on finishes because the space is small. Finishes that would be over the top elsewhere often work well in a space such as a powder room.
For my powder bath project, I did just that. I knew I wouldn’t be changing everything, so I chose a few things to change and made sure they were close to perfect. A great tip to follow when making over a space, change things when you can afford to get what you want. I plan to do just this.
My vision is below, but first, let’s take a look at the previous look.

The new look will be more in keeping with our new, updated, transitional decor.
We have already changed the door and door handle.
Here is my vision for the remaining updates.
Now, the details!
Because there is no natural light in the space, I wanted to be sure to update the lights. We already had a ceiling mount and two sconces and I’ll be updating all of these. I adore the new ones we will be adding.
This mirror from Bellacor was such a find. The gorgeous antique mint green color is complimented by a raised greek key design in gold. At 46″ tall, it is a statement piece and so perfect for our powder bathroom. It has already arrived and I’m thrilled with it!
I have a few knob options. I love them all and simply need to make a final selection.
We also added quartz countertops. They are the same as our kitchen update project counters, also installed by the pros at Stone Coverings of Houston. The brand is LG Viatera and the color is almost identical to their new color, Mica.
I have also selected an elegant brass faucet, toilet paper holder, towel bar, and towel hook for the space as well. Much more on these pieces in the reveal which is coming soon!
UPDATE: We decided our newly updated powder bath needed new paint! The wall color will be Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore in a matte finish. The cabinets will be painted the same color, but in a satin finish.
I hope you’ll stay connected…..

What is the name, color and brand of the floor tile that you used?
Jennifer says
Hi Gail! The tile was a choice through our builder 6 years ago. Unfortunately, we were not provided with those details. Sorry!
