Thank you for joining me today for our Christmas Nights Tour hosted by Maison De Pax. If you are coming here from So Much Better with Age, a special welcome to you!
Late at night, when the house is quiet and all of the christmas lights are on, a different perspective can be had. In truth, since launching this blog, the vast majority of my photographs have been shot during daylight hours. This will be my first foray into evening and nighttime photos. I am excited about this as I have begun to learn to shoot in manual mode.
Up first, the front porch. Shot right at dusk, our eastern facing porch basks in the glow of the soft warm lights from the Christmas tree.
I found that I love shooting at dusk as the blue cast works very well with Christmas lights.
This year I decided to string lights across the windows in our breakfast room.
Below, garland is illuminated in one of our entertaining areas. I adore battery operated lights! The family room tree is in the background.
The strung lights in the breakfast room are little stars and also battery operated. So festive!
I added another string of lights to a leaning mirror in the dining room.
You may recall that I flocked one of our older trees this year. I think they look especially beautiful at night.
One of our newer trees this season is in my master bedroom. This nine foot version offers more than 1700 lights. If you happen to have room for the 15′ version, it offers more than 5000 lights! Read about our new trees here.
This is Gizmo. He has become so sweet as he has gotten older. He loves napping by the tree, especially during the evening hours.
The rear porch at dusk. You can see these patio trees from our living room.
Over 2500 combined lights are on display in this final photo!
I hope you have enjoyed this Christmas Nights tour. I cannot believe that Christmas is less than a week away! I’m off to finish some last minute shopping for my family. Thank you for sharing some of your time with me here at Decor Gold Designs!
