This may be the final new home progress report before our house is complete. It is all about lighting and I am so excited to be at this stage of the game. I’m also thrilled with the beautiful fixtures we have installed so far and the ones that are coming soon.
Without question, lighting is my favorite thing that goes into a home. I spent more hours working on the lighting for our new home than any other design element. In my eyes, a beautiful ceiling fixture completes a room and wall sconces can add to the ambiance of a space.
I tried to select timeless lighting fixtures. Many of them are versatile as well, so I can use them in a different space if ever I choose to do so.
Let’s start at the top…
Chandeliers
The warmth chandeliers add to each space should not be underestimated. Their lights bounce off of their glass or crystals, providing extra light. On dimmers (which we always install), they give off a warm, glittery inviting glow, which I just love.
These chandeliers are all in the front part of our new home. I adore how the styles work together and flow from room to room. Once installed, they immediately gave each space a more elevated look.
My chandelier selections for the primary bedroom side of our home are next. They include the primary bedroom, bathroom, and closet. I also included the chandelier for the guest bedroom, which is on the same side of the house.
Sconces
In my first home ever (as an adult), I found two beautiful wall sconces to install in our living room. They were completely decorative and not necessarily needed for light, but they made me happy. I even moved them with me to Texas a few years later and had them installed in our first home here. Ever since, I have been in love with wall sconces.
I found plenty of spots for sconces in our new home and have purchased some beautiful ones so far. I have a few more sets to find, but I’ll keep you posted as I add them.
Lamps
I normally wouldn’t include lamps in a new home progress report, but I picked up a few while shopping for more permanent lighting. They are too pretty not to share!
Lighting by Location
Entryway
I knew I wanted a waterfall chandelier for this space, but this one is so much more beautiful than anything I imagined. And guess who installed every light bulb and all 196 pieces of glass. I did!
Dining Room
I thought I wanted to put a gold chandelier in our new dining room. Once it was painted though, I realized this one was more fitting. It is so gorgeous in person!
Living Room
Kitchen & Breakfast
I found this chandelier, which is not the one I originally picked out, but it is just as pretty and it is the exact right size for this space. With this purchase, I added the coordinating pendants for our kitchen.
Pantry
I selected two of these pendants for our pantry. Do they look familiar? They’re the much smaller version of our entryway chandelier.
Dog Room
Office
Powder Bathroom
Primary Bedroom
I have loved this chandelier since I first saw it. It was the first one I picked out for our home. I had several ideas for spots to hang it, but ultimately it landed in our primary bedroom and it’s perfect in here.
Primary Bathroom
This room has small pendant over the bathtub. It also has a larger chandelier in the center of the room. We selected beautiful wall sconces that will flank each mirror as well.
Closet
Guest Bedroom
I selected a Venetian silver chandelier and sconces for this bedroom.
I hope you’ll stay connected!
