We just returned home from an incredible 11 day getaway. Those days were spent at our favorite coastal vacation spot and as always, it was so difficult to leave. We did leave though and I found myself wanting to bring home a little something to help me hang onto our peaceful coastal town.
I’m not big on souvenirs, but I often pick up a treasure or two from my travels. This time, I wanted to do more, so I decided to give our guest room a coastal-inspired makeover. I was lucky enough to partner with Walmart for my coastal bedroom update. They have pretty pieces at fabulous low prices, so I was easily able to pull off a new look. I shopped Walmart’s Bedroom Swells and Beachy Wall Decor for my new coastal bedroom decor.
Adding a beautiful coastal look to a room can give you a space that feels like a getaway. Keep it subtle and it will flow with the rest of your home.

The addition of the coastal art came first. It was only $76 for all four, which is amazing considering how nice they look in person. They could easily be used in a bathroom in the future.
I also changed some of the bedding. This soft grayish blue set is perfect for a coastal look. I wanted a color that would evoke memories of ocean water, but I wanted it to be subtle.
We already had a chandelier with beads that look like sea glass, so it works wonderfully with the new coastal chic vibe. For lamps, I selected this pair of bottle glass table lamps. I love the way they look with the shades of blue and white. They are timeless and would work well in almost any space and with almost any style.
The natural fiber rug I have been using in this room looks even better with my new subtle coastal style. I also brought a basket into this space to house extra pillows including a cute beachy striped one. Both add texture, a great element to include with this style.
I also found a set of rattan trays. I added one to a pouf at the end of my bed.
Bougainvillea (my favorite colorful warm climate plant), coral, and a couple of frames round out the new look!
Such a fun new look. You’ll find me here when I am missing my favorite seaside spot.

This is a beautiful bedroom. I am just amazed at how Walmart has stepped up their home decor game! The touch of the deep bougainvillea was the prefect touch of color.

I love the blue comforter. Is the link to Walmart the same one? It looks more blue on your bed and more grey on the link to Walmart.
Hi Helena! Yes, I bought that exact comforter. It is a blue-gray, but more blue than gray. If you look at the 4th image in this post (a closeup), it is very true to the color of comforter. Hope this helps! xo
Wow, this room is breathtaking! It looks so cozy and inviting and the subtle, soft color palette you went with is a real jackpot.
